You are building a pyramid, one appearance at a time.

Proof, then Performance, then Positioning. Two months building, one month testing - nobody skips a level.

The Three Stages

How we build thought leadership.

You don't start by claiming the category. You earn it - from the bottom of the pyramid up. Each stage makes the next one work.

01
PROOF
Lay the foundation.

Credibility isn't the problem - clarity is. We build the base every appearance stands on:

-Build your profile
-Craft your personal story
-Create your assets
-Get experience on real shows
-Gather social proof
02
PERFORMANCE
Find what lands.

Every show is a live experiment. We treat your message like a product and test it:

-Test your talking points
-Split-test topic angles
-Find the topics that land
-Keep the language that sticks
03
POSITIONING
Own the category.

With proof behind you and a message that lands, you stop guesting - you start leading:

-Thought leadership on the shows that matter
-Category ownership
-The go-to voice in your niche

The Personal Brand Pyramid: 3 Stages to Leading Your Category

Every professional who becomes the name in their category follows the same climb. It starts in small rooms, where the reps are cheap and the message gets sharp. It builds through testing, where you find out which version of your story the audience actually wants. And it ends with the market coming to you: hosts reaching out first, buyers arriving already sold. In our new ebook, The Personal Brand Pyramid, we map that climb in three stages: Proof, Performance, Positioning. Each one earns the next, and each one tells you when you are ready to move up.

Proof is where you establish that you can show up and say something worth an hour of a stranger’s attention. The shows are smaller, and that is the point. Every appearance is a brick, and stacked together they become the body of work every host and buyer checks before they commit.

Performance is where you stop guessing. You deploy your talking points across different rooms and listen for the signals: which ones make the host go off script, which ones get quoted back to you, which ones create inbound. The material that wins is often not the material you expected, and that discovery is worth more than any amount of planning.

Positioning is where the work compounds. You own a clear problem in a defined category, the market starts using your framing, and the first call with a buyer is about scope rather than credibility.

The order matters because each stage carries the next. Skip ahead and the appearance is wasted; stay too long and the reps stop teaching you anything. The ebook shows you how to read where you are on the climb, and exactly which brick to lay next.

Why It Works

Proof carries performance. Performance earns positioning.

Skip a layer and the pyramid falls: positioning without proof reads as self-promotion; testing without assets wastes every appearance. Stack them in order and your authority compounds on other people's audiences.

Strategy FAQ

Questions about the climb.

Can I start on the big-name shows?

Almost nobody does. The bigger shows check what you’ve done before they say yes, so every earlier appearance adds trust and social proof - and that momentum is what opens the door.

Why do smaller, focused shows work better?

High intent beats high reach. Two hundred listeners who genuinely care about your subject are worth more than a big general audience scrolling past, because they arrive already carrying the problem you solve.

Which shows are we aiming for?

The ones your buyers already trust - usually 10,000 to 50,000 listeners, a specialist host and one clear topic. Getting on them is possible, but it takes time and an established portfolio behind you.

How long does each stage take?

The first couple of months build your foundation - profile, story, assets and your first real appearances. Testing runs well beyond that, because you learn what lands across many conversations rather than a handful. Positioning comes after.

What happens if I skip a stage?

It shows. Without the groundwork underneath it, a big appearance reads as self-promotion, and a listener who goes looking for you afterwards finds nowhere to land. Each stage is what makes the next one work.

What makes a talking point work?

You can hear it. The host leaves their script to follow you, people repeat your phrasing back in the outro or the comments, and something arrives afterwards - an email, a connection, an enquiry.

What if the topic that lands isn’t the one I want?

Sometimes you have to listen to the Universe. We’ve seen plenty of guests discover angles that were hidden in plain sight, thanks to audience feedback. It’s easier to pull on open doors than push on closed ones.

How should I structure what I say?

We guide you through it. Name the problem your audience has in their own words, give them your take on it, then show them what to do about it. You won’t be working it out alone in front of a microphone.

Do I say the same thing on every show?

Your core message stays consistent - that’s what makes you recognisable across appearances. The stories, examples and length change to suit the show and the time you’re given.

Do I ever finish the pyramid?

Thought leadership is a journey, not a destination. At the top you open new opportunities and audiences for your conversations, and each one gives you somewhere new to take the work.
